Akon est décidément un petit malin. Il travaille depuis un petit bout de temps avec des artistes country, sous un pseudonyme. Il envisage même d'enregistrer un album dans ce style musical. 'Je voulais en quelque sorte choquer les gens en faisant cela. J'ai écrit et produit des titres pour plusieurs artistes country mais je l'ai fait sous un pseudonyme, pour ne pas être reconnu. Suivant le succès de ces disques, je me lancerais peut-être dans un album...', a-t-il précisé à la presse américaine.

Dans l'attente de son prochain opus, annoncé dans un premier temps au mois de mai et sur lequel Michael Jackson devrait apparaître, Akon a travaillé sur l'album de Lindsay Lohan, aux sonorités hip-hop. Le rappeur figure au rang des producteurs au même titre que Snoop Dogg, Pharrell Williams et Ne-Yo...
